Christmas Dinner Recipe from Oprah Magazine Cookbook

The following recipe is taken from Oprah Magazine Cookbook and it both looks and tastes delicious. Enjoy tasty and beautiful, mouth-watering Crostini with Wild Mushrooms and Mozzarella. Sounds yummy yeah??? The Crostini will go great at a cocktail party as well.

Crostini mushrooms mozzarella

You will need:

  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • wild mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 24 slices countrystyle bread, toasted
  • 1 pound fresh salted mozzarella, cut into 24 slices

How to cook:

Take sliced bread and make toasts. Top each one with a slice of mozzarella and bake for not more than 5 min, until cheese is melted. Heat olive oil and sauté garlic about 30 seconds, than quickly add chopped mushrooms and sauté for 5 more minutes. Add wine, increase and stir for 5 minutes, mix in salt and pepper.

Put the following mixture on bread slices.

It goes without saying that turkey is traditional for Thanksgiving, and you should know that ham is traditional for Christmas dinner. There are numerous recipes how to cook ham and what meals to do with it. I am going to share with you a tasty Christmas recipe: pan-fried ham, turkey and cheese sandwich.

Turkey Ham and CheeseToastie

You need:

12 slices of bread
120g mature cheddar cheese
150g leg ham
mustard in seeds
cranberry sauce
150g sliced turkey
100g gruyere Cheese
3 eggs
40ml milk
40ml oil
20g butter

How to cook:

Take a slice of bread and put a slice of turkey over it, top with the cranberry sauce and cheddar cheese. Then make a second layer of bread over the turkey bed, top with ham, mustard and gruyere cheese. And make the last third slice of bread. Now cut sandwich in halves.

Mix the eggs with milk, then carefully heat the oil and butter, dip each sandwich into the egg-milk combination and fry in butter-oil. When both sides are bronze – put in the oven for 5 mins at 180oC.
